Information we may collect
- Account and contact information, such as your name, email address, phone number and sign-in method.
- Household and food preferences you choose to provide, including pantry, meal-plan, market-list and dietary information. Some of this, such as allergies or health conditions you enter for a household member, is sensitive, and you choose whether to provide it.
- Recipes, community activity and other content you create or save.
- Technical, security and service-usage information needed to operate and protect Sapor.
How we use information
- Provide, personalise and synchronise Sapor across your devices.
- Generate pantry-aware suggestions, meal plans and market lists.
- Protect accounts, investigate misuse and maintain service reliability.
- Send requested launch, account and service communications.
- Understand and improve product performance using appropriately limited information.
Sharing and processors
If you accept ad measurement on our landing page, Meta receives information about your visit and whether you joined the waitlist, so we can measure our ads. See our Cookie policy.
We may use carefully selected service providers to host, secure and deliver Sapor. They may process information only for the services they provide to us. When you use Ask Sapor, the question and the kitchen context needed to answer it are sent to our AI provider to generate a reply. We may also disclose information when required by applicable law, to protect safety or rights, or when you direct us to share it.
Instagram and Facebook posts
When you add a recipe from a link to a public Instagram or Facebook post, Sapor shows that post using Meta’s official embed. We do not copy, read or store the post’s caption, author details or images from it; we keep only the link you added, so the post can be shown again with your recipe. If you want the recipe text in Sapor, you paste or type it yourself.
YouTube videos and YouTube API Services
Sapor shows cooking videos with YouTube's official embedded player. Videos are shown unmodified, with YouTube's branding and ads intact, the way a search engine shows results. Sapor does not download, copy or re-host them.
Sapor uses YouTube API Services to look up public video information, such as a video's title, length and whether it can be embedded. By watching a video in Sapor you are also bound by the YouTube Terms of Service, and Google's handling of data collected through the player is described in the Google Privacy Policy.
If you made a video and would like it removed from Sapor, write to social.saporapp@gmail.com and we will take it down.
Retention and deletion
We retain information only for as long as it is needed for the purposes described here, to meet legal obligations or to resolve disputes. You can request permanent account deletion from the app. Details are available on the Account deletion page.
Your choices and rights
Depending on applicable law, you may ask to access, correct or erase your personal data, withdraw consent, or raise a grievance. Contact social.saporapp@gmail.com. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.
Children
Sapor is designed for household use and is not intended for children to create independent accounts. Parents or guardians should manage household information relating to children.
Security and international processing
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards. No online service can guarantee absolute security. Where service providers process information in another country, we take steps intended to preserve appropriate protection.
Updates
We may update this policy as Sapor develops or legal requirements change. Material changes will be communicated through the website, app or account contact details.
